Bonsai Denver
Alleviating labor strain and improving recipe consistency
When CamGroup began working with Bonsai Cultivation’s Denver facility, the team was already producing at a high level – but saw room to make watering more efficient, reliable, and precise. A 13-person crew (now 11) hand-fed a 25,000 sq ft canopy using Dosatron mixers and handheld pH tools. Dosatrons are widely used in the industry and can be fine when “close enough” is good enough, but their inherent variance makes accuracy and reliability a challenge. Each irrigation required line bleeding, sending 25 gallons per room – 200 gallons total – down the drain before every run. The process was labor-heavy, time-consuming, and prone to small variances in recipe accuracy.
CamGroup collaborated with Bonsai to modernize the fertigation system. They installed Netafim emitters to standardize delivery and deployed the DAGDA™ AgMix system to automate nutrient batching, pH adjustment, and EC monitoring. The upgrade reduced labor demands, improved consistency, and cut nutrient waste – freeing the team to focus more on plants and less on process.
